Probably a stupid question here.. But my owner's manual, google, and sylvanias bulb guide don't answer this.

I am upgrading the turn signal lights to MTEC whites.. and it seems that the front bulb is different than the one for the rear (PY 21W, 7507). The manual, guide, and goggle all say that both are the same type of bulb.. but they are not. The front bulbs are a wedge type, rather than a 2 prong screw in. Searches on which type of bulb this is have proved futile.. This is what I bought thinking it would work for the front and back:

The back were fine, but the front.. no go.

Anyone who can help with some past experience or knows the exact bulb please respond.

Thanks.

That bulb won't work, it is a wedge type so there's no socket. I'd suggest contacting Brabusw209amg (John) - he can help you with your lights and sicne you live in NYC he will even com and install. Great guy, great vendor, don't bother with cheap eBay crap.

best way too find out is to pull the bulb out..

when I was ordering Solaris bulbs via bimmian.com.... ( http://www.bimmian.com/elements/product.ht...is/1.htm?veh=60 ) I had to pull the OEM bulb to confirm the bulb size, as that was sggested by members here.

I had to find out which bulb size were in my e60 as well for the fronts....usually it's a wedge type bulb (3157/3457 Style)...

John does not list turn signal bulbs in his vendor for sale stuff. Also, MTEC is a pretty reliable brand, which is what John sells (at least for his angel eyes).

Most stuff on Ebay is indeed crap, but for small stuff like this it can serve a purpose. I just wonder why the owners manual, and all bulb guides do not refer to the difference between front and rear turn signal bulbs.. lol.

3157/3457 are the exact same thing as the bulb I took out. Thanks, I appreciate your help.

Just adding my two cents, I believe that for the front signal bulbs, there are actually three different kind that e60s use. I came across this information when I was researching myself. It probably depends on the manufactured date. But mine was 3457 as well, and I can only assume the majority are the wedge type.
