Has anyone else had this problem? Bought a used 08 535i with no accident or damage reported on carfax, went to access the front tow hook location and there are no threads in the hole in the bumper.? What's up with that? See images.

 

My guess.

Since your state requires front license plates, the previous owner stripped all the threads installing the wrong bolt?

 

Previous owner probably jacked it up towing the car.
