The struts on my 2007 530 with Sport Pakcage are fine - I had the dealer check over all my suspension components and everything is still nice and tight. 129,000 miles. Seems strange that you need struts after only 60k miles - with today's struts failures are not common.
If you opt to replace them, go with the coilovers for the reasons already mentioned.

Well actually they told me the control arm bushings are developing a crack. But they claim they have to replace the whole control arm in order to replace the bushings. Their reasoning behind not covering it under CPO is that the bushing is made from rubber (rubber is not covered under CPO).

I know that "Suspension" is covered under CPO so maybe I should contact BMW corporate about getting this taken care of. If the dealer is forced to replace the whole damn strut in order to fix the bushing issue, then that's definitely a "Suspension" fix. Has anyone had luck getting Struts/Bushings replaced under CPO warranty?

+ 1 for replacing JUST the bushings. Unless there's a damage on the ball-joint on the control arm, you don't need to change the whole control arm. This is only because the ball-joint is not serviceable. Picture a crooked stick with two round ends, one end (this is the end with the bushing) gets attached to the front axle subframe and the other attaches to the wheel hub/bearing (this is the ball-joint end). Good luck!
