I've never been pulled over in any car for not having a front plate.

My Ride: 545i Sport
Model Year: 2004
Engine: N62
I got pulled over for speeding and the officer asked for the front plate. I told him it was missing. He just told me to go to DMV and get one.
That was it, no citation or fix-it ticket. I still got the speeding ticket though.

Stay outta Panorama City with an E60! I got pulled over last year for "Loud Exhaust" at the same intersection - right across from Galpin, in front of Checkered Flag Audio. I explained it was a Remus and just made a deeper sound. He gave me some BS that he has a 550 and it is quiet. His partner walks to the front of the car and busts me for no front plate. Both were dismissed - the plate thanks to zip ties (fix it ticket), and the exhaust due to abserdity (below threshold). Good luck man.
Curious
What was the $ hit for the fix it? I am running around town (will avoid Panorama City) with no front plate. I like the look of the front and am not looking forward to drilling holes into the bumper. May follow your lead with the zip ties....

I have never put front plates on any of my cars. They look fugly. But I also keep my vehicle registration paper stuck on my windshield to help. I agree with Nerwill, it can be mounted any way as long as it's mounted.
However they can be placed anywhere as long as they have the correctly spaced letters / numbers. My plate is so illegal but then again I was always a rebel.
