Thumbs up

I washed my car today and when leaving the garage and started the car, I got the "front left parking light failure" message.

But here's the whole story:
1. After washing the car outside, I cleaned the inside. Listened to stereo at the same time. Doors opened and closed several times.
2. At a time stereo turns off by itself. I thought it was because of low voltage maybe.
3. When starting to collect my things, I notice that parking lights (angel eyes) were on. I wondered how did this happen? I didn't touch the light switch.
4. I had to start and stop the car (motor) to shut off the parking lights. No messages at this point yet.
5. I collect my things and put them in the car. Start the car --> message. Went out and notice that left angel eyes are not on. Right side is ok.
6. Drove home, disconnected the battery for two hours. I reconnected the battery, but still the message appears.

Ok, can be the bulbs, but how the both at the same time? Besides, how the hell did the parking lights turn on during cleaning the inside. I'm quite sure I didn't hit the light switch. Sounds like water got in a wrong place?

If the bulbs are broken, no problem, I have spare bulbs (Pre-LCI --> W5W). But I have never done it, and I couldn't get the bulbs out. How in the world do they come off. I tried the search, but it doesn't help much.

Any advice would be appreciated. And sorry about the long post.

I'm suspecting my battery after reading this topic.

Anyway, any good advice to pull the bulb+holder out from the casing? I have no idea how to do it. Is there some clip or just pull?

edit: Oh yeah, AND when disconnecting the battery, the fastening bolt of the minus pole snap off!
AND of course it's a special part ONLY for BMW ! I'm sure it's going to cost some million bucks !

One more question:

My headlights are xenon, but high beams are halogens. Are my angel eyes/parking lights still 5W5 or something else?

I'm talking to myself but what the heck :

I think I accidentaly turned the indicator stalk to the left while cleaning the interior and that's why the angel eyes were on. Learned it here.
And the message possibly appeared because of the bad battery....

I tried to learn about those 1.000.000 threads about changing angel eyes to be white instead of yellow, but I'm still not aware of the bulb type I would need if I wanted to change them. Any help? I have 2004 pre-LCI and xenon headlights (halogen beams).

edit: Haha... I think I got it. I can wipe my a.. with those 5W5 bulbs I guess !

That's not the bulbs!

It's a 12V10W, one bulb for two "eyes" aka one side.

My left parking light is not working right now, I've the new bulb but it's a mess to change the left one. I have to unscrew the hole headlamp, due to lack of space behind it. Damn BMW!

Thanks.

I went to the car last night and inspected the thing some more and found this out too.

I just washed the E60 in 3,5 Celcius and then changed the parking light (left side). Now I'm back in the house with cold ears and bloody hands. But now the car looks amazing and the left angel eye is now back in business!
