Default front hub abs ring loose? causing abs/dsc errors

so i got a bunch of dash warnings today...abs, dsc, flat tire, etc.
i hooked up disv57 and found i have a faulty front wheel sensor. i pulled the sensor out and it looked worn a bit. i looked in the hole where it mounts, and spun the rotor/hub but the abs ring inside did not turn. i was able to push it in a bit and turn with a screwdriver. is this a known issue where the abs ring comes loose? how is it even held in there? glue?

Not sure how it is attached. It isn't available as a separate part. It is part of the wheel hub assembly.

I wouldn't hesitate to use quality aftermarket parts. In fact, many of them are the same companies making the BMW part.

Autohausaz has a list of suppliers that I think is a good reference:

For wheel hubs, it looks like FAG may be the one to favor.

Looks like Advance Auto Parts has FAG ones in their catalog and if you order online you can use a serious dollar or percentage off coupon

Mine did this on a sunday evening the night before a 400 mile drive the next morning at 6am. in desperation I used a few dots of superglue and gently tapped the abs ring back onto the bearing. (my plan b was to remove the ring completely and have no ABS) leaving the ring in there, and loose wasnt an option as it would aventually damage the sensor and perhaps the bearing too.

that was over a year ago really ought to replace it, requires a new wheelbearing.

You can replace the entire wheel hub which includes the wheel bearing and does not require any pressing out and in the old and new bearing.

I was considering doing this - replacing the hub+wheel bearing assembly.
We have to disconnect everything (both control arms, tie-rod-ends, bolts holding the shock absorber, etc.) It's not a small job. I will investigate if hub can be replaced without having to disconnect all those parts.

from what ive seen, the strut partially covers the 4 bolts that hold the hub to the spindle. so removing the strut is the main obsticle. other than that, remove the rotor and pads.

When I replaced the struts 6 months ago, I remember seeing those bolts. Even after loosening the bolts holding the strut, the knuckle/hub didn't drop until the ball joints were undone. I am trying to recollect my memory. Typically, I take pictures while doing repairs/parts replacement on the car. I only took couple of pics while doing the strut replacement.
