kscarrol and E60Coyote: After having your front bumper taken off and either replaced or fixed, how is the alignment. I have an excellent body shop...they are BMW factory certified. I just worry because the car is so new and body shops have not had time to work on this car. I don't want my car to be the guinea pig.

So how did that type of stuff work out????

I think I am still going to take it to my guy and see what he says tomorrow but most likely wont do anything about it until next spring.

GotBMW - I too was woried about this, but that's why I took my car to the body shop my dealer uses. They service MANY BMWs at the body shop I went to. Ask your body shop if the technitians have been trained to work on the new 5er yet. I think there is a training program for BMW certified repair shops.

I considered removing the cover myself because I was woried about them breaking clips. In the end, I had them do it because I could not find any information on how to remove the cover. The alignment is perfect and I could not tell that it had been removed. I blaimed them for cracking the headlight brackets, but I just realized from this board that this is a common problem.

Hope that helps!

E60Coyote: Yes it does! Thank you! I am sure my shop has gone through the class but I never assume. You know what happens when you do that!

Thanks again!

GotBMW, sorry, but can't really help as I have yet to actually take in for the repairs.
