Scratched my body kit on a parking lot curving. Do you think this could be buffed out and/or painted?

thanks

Depends on how deep the damage is. If just surface scratch (not all the way through clear coat) or even through the clear but not past the color coat, a body shop can wet sand and polish. If past the color coat, would need to be painted. Pix would help.

Sorry to hear about this.

Modern plastic bumpers can be buffed out and even welded if so needed.

That should not be a problem for a good auto body shop..once you open your wallet, they do miracle.

Best of luck.

The damage has gone through the color coat on the far left (black spot) and appears to have gone through the clear in other areas. If it were me, I would take it to a high end body shop and ask them to color sand & polish, which might make the damage hardly noticeable, except for the black spot on the left, which they or you could tough up with BMW touch up paint. Given the location of the damage (low, and on a surface which curves under) I suspect it might be only noticeable to you, and then only if you're really looking for it.

The other option is to have them respray the lower part of the bumper (they'll repair and color spray the damaged area, then re-clear the entire bottom of bumper). The downside of this is 1) color matching, and 2) the newly sprayed area won't be as chip resistant as the factory paint, which is an issue on front bumpers.
