Too funny, just after 50K, I noticed a slight noise from the left front of the vehicle. It sounded like a tire with a flat spot.
It got a little louder so I dropped her off at the dealer, was told she needs a new front ball joint. $574 installed.
You have to laugh at such things I guess - Anyone else face a worn ball joint after 50? Is it worth debating with my SA to see if he can cover it under warranty - I already OK'd the repair.

I did get a brand new 328 loaner, less than 300 miles. Yikes, there is basically nothing I like about the car.
Enjoy the weekend!

I posted this the other day:

"I recently had a left front wheel bearing replaced. It sounded like a separated tire. A persistent knocking noise, slight feel in the steering wheel, but no difference when turning."

My SA originally told me that tire cupping is normal on these cars because of the way they're set up, and, that's what the noise was. BS? Not sure on that one. I don't think they even drove the
car to check it out. Anyway...a couple of times back and forth and I got a new bearing and my quiet ride back.

A noisy ball joint sounds like a flat spotted tire? Might be a first. Good luck with your repair.

EDIT: member Hilden did a great write up in the DIY section on wheel bearing replacement.
