My Ride: 2011 M3 Convertible, Alpine White/black, 6 speed 2011 535xi Tasmin Green, Venetian Beige

Okay, so I had my Winter set-up put on today. 18" Style 135 with Dunlop Winter M3 tires, same as with my last 550i. I spent $170 on TPS sensors, $40 on metal valve stems plus $160 to have the tires removed, TPS sensors installed, tires remounted and balanced and put back on the car. I'm happy. Sort of. I looked behind the spokes and can clearly see the white reside left by the old wheel weights and it pisses me off. I don't want to use Goo Gone to remove it because I'm afraid it will screw up the finish and scraping them might make it look worse. Any suggestions and/or sympathy would be most appreciated.
Thanks,
Jeff

Saturate with WD-40, let sit 30-40 minutes, use your fingernails. If it starts to look dry, stop and repeat process. Then clean up with a little soapy water and hit with Wheel Wax or whatever you use. It will not harm the finish.

WD-40 is an automotive wonder liquid. It can also be used to wake the dead ! GOO GONE is also safe for most finishes and sometimes does a better job removing left-behind sticky tape residue! With either, a nice warm garage will make things go quicker!

As already advised, clean up and wax afterward and you should be ready to leave that horrible weight tape stuff behind!

Drive around a little - that white residue will turn the same color as the rest of the rim (I believe it is called BDC - brake dust color). Deal with it in the spring when you take them off and clean them.

What happened to your '06 winter setting, JeffNNJ?

I still don't know what the TPS sensor are, my iDrive takes care of that.
Do you get the PSI readings on the iDrive? If so send in some pics, please!

Also pics of the white reside left by the old wheel weights would be nice.
Btw, they are easily removed - only some old glue.

My LCI has the normal BMW ABS sensor system.
No extra tires parts nor nothing is needed for that.

I payed 30 bucks for changing and storing (and washing) my summer wheels.
Did enjoy a nice meal as it was done.

TPS = This Part Sucks
