Freezing temperature warning gong

As you know, a warning gong sounds when the ambient temperature drops below 37 F. On my car, the gong is loud enough to wake the dead, and startles the sh** out of me! Any way to lower the volume of that gong?

This has to be the goofiest feature on the car. Like I don't know it's cold outside! And 37 degrees isn't freezing, so what good does it do?
And shady areas of the road will be cooler (possibly freezing) when sunny areas are still slightly above freezing.

My Ride: My ex-ride: EU '08 LCI 520dA. Space Grey, Sport Seats in Black Leather/Fabric Anthracite, Sport Steering Wheel, A/C with Extended Features, Hi-Fi Speakers, Cup Holders, Cruise with Braking function, Folding Rear Seats, Xenons, Park Distance Control.
The smooth warning goes out 3 degrees before freezing (at plus 3 C).
Bridges etc can be icy at that point.

I can handle the gong better than sliding across a patch of black ice. Now that will raise you "oh sh**" level
I have read posts on this subject before and was not aware that the dealer could lower the volume of this warning chime.

I remember the first time I heard this chime was on the way to Vegas last year for New Years. It scared the shit out me!

SUCCESS!
A very sharp SA at Bridgeport BMW in Bridgeport, CT showed me how:
1. With driver's door open, and radio off, insert key (or fob) in ignition. Do not start engine.
2. After a second or two, the key icon will appear in the warning screen and the gong will begin to chime.
3. Turn the radio volume knob to adjust the sound of the gong.
THAT'S IT!!!
They tell you to RTFM, but this isn't in TFM. Go figure.
So that's my contribution to the forum.
