Go to the car today and see a crack on the top of the windsheild!

What do these run?

Has heads up display

With HUD about $100-200 more than standard windshield ... but most auto insurance policies have a glass replacement clause that makes it less painful.

Can you tell if it was caused by an impact (stone) or if it was a stress fracture. Might make a difference if your car is still in warranty.

Looks like stress since it appears to have started at the top of the windsheild under the seal no impact marks, but I have a 04 so. No warranty

A few years back with my 2007 e60 a truck kicked up a rock and it hit the windshield right next to the rain sensor. It cracked the INSIDE glass but not the outside. Safelite replaced it with zero deductible. They picked up the OEM glass from my dealer.

Of course I just raised my deductible on my policy since it was soooo expensive. : (

Check with your insurance company ... deductible for glass is frequently lower than that for bodywork!

Most of the insurances don't have deductible for windshield replacement..check with yours..
