I cannot find the thread, but do recall a thread discussion about having the dealer program the ignition key to fold the side rear-view mirrors. I took my car to the dealer today and was told its not possible.

I have a 2007 US spec 530i.

Any suggestions ?

If you have electrically folding mirrors operated by the small switch near window lift switch groop, in the door panel then the dealer can program the mirrors to fold when you press to lock switch on your remote control (long press, 3 seconds) to lock the car. the mirrors will fold. To unfold simply press the open botton of your remote control. This operation is programmed thru car memory program at your BMW dealer.

Thanks for the reponses. I definitely don't have the switch in the side panel, so I guess its gonna be elbow grease for me.

I hadn't thought about auto-folding side mirrors until I saw this thread. It would be a great feature to have, especially for those of us with narrow garage spaces!

It shouldn't cost you anything to get this programmed.

It's so absurd we don't have them considering not only does the 7 have them but the 3 sedan and coupes in the US have them.
