I pick up my new 530i on Saturday and want the dealer to configure the mirrors to fold when the I lock by remote.? They say they can do this, but they won't be able to return to their normal position when I unlock, without having to hit the internal switch.? This doesn't sound right?? Can you tell me what was done to get this last part of the puzzle working?

The programming will take care of both.

[quote name='ISUK' date='Dec 17 2004, 11:43 PM']If you have the folding mirror option on your car then yes, you can have the mirrors programmed to fold when you press and hold the remote locking button on the key. They fold back out when you unlock it. I had this re-programming done 3 weeks ago in the UK.

The programming is just a quick un-enabled to enabled in the Car Memory function.
Mirrors will unfold once the car is unlocked. The internal switch is not used at all, unless you fold the mirror with the switch in the first place.
