"Malfunction" solved!
I picked up a $9.00 halogen bulb at the autoparts store on my way home from work. When I removed the old bulb, there was no glass left on the bulb, just the filement. I replaced the bulb, and voila, light comes on and no more error!
$9.00 and 15 mins. of labour.
Now I am wishing I picked up the $40 superwhite set of bulbs, the replacement was so easy!
