So I received my car yesterday and it is GREAT. But, I do have to say the headlights are quite foggy and dirty. It seems the plastic is damaged from the inside. Does anyone know how much it is to replace the cover for the headlight, not the entire unit?

Also, Bavarian Autosports (bavauto.com) sells a complete headlight refinishing kit. I just saw it in their new fall catalog.

Internal problems can't be repaired with the products mentioned. If the headlamps are leaking and the the covers are damaged on the inside, (based on previous posts) the covers are not replaceable separately ... it would require replacement of the entire assembly.

The fog or mist part is normal after some rain or car wash (see pic of my ex-E60).
But if they are scratched etc, they need to be replaced.
The headlight "cover plastic" isn't too durable.

I took mine to a local detail shop. They tested an area for free to see if they could fix the lights appearance. It did and they did both lights for 20 bucks. They had the " kit"

I had mine replaced for misting. I wouldnt put up with it, no matter what the dealer says show him your pics. It wasnt designed to mist and for a premium vehicle it isnt acceptable.

I took the car to the dealership who said that misting is normal, and as long as it clears in within 15 minutes of switching on the lights then they won't replace them under warranty. My car isn't quite 2 years old yet, so there is still some warranty left on it.
I wouldn't mind the misting bit so much, but the scum on the inside does annoy me a bit. Should I take it back and insist on a replacement, or what can I do?
Thanks
