Can any one point me in the right direction for what the bulb code is for the fog lights on my 2008 550i with sport package? As far as I can tell it is either an H8 or a 9006, but I can't seem to figure out which it is short of taking the fogs apart. I have searched and looked in the owners manual and can't seem to find a definitive answer. Also, what is the max wattage I can put in the fogs? I'd like to change to color a little (maybe a 6000k) to match to Xenon headlights and a little extra brightness never hurts. Any help and suggestions are welcomed!
Thanks!

My '07 uses 9006 bulbs. I bought a "package" when i upgraded the AE's but i must admit I don't remember the k rating. If I have an opportunity tomorrow I'll look for the original packaging.

The mTECH is like the M5 look...do you have upgraded bumpers/rims? Its a M Sport package...not the same as normal sport package. You most likely have H8 fog light bulb...and get GP Thunder 8500k Fog Lights...nice white xenon look. Only cost $20...no errors either.

You have the sport packagae John, yours was identical to mine when I saw it and 2008 means your LCI, so that would be H8 then.
My car is the middle ( I had diff wheels on in summer)

By the way, I just saw that GP Thunder is now offering a new 80 watt H8 8500k bulb.....saw it here HIDLIGHTSUSA.COM (Thanks Mel!).
I ordered a set of those and plan to try them in my fog lights. Does anyone know if the 80 watt version is likely to throw any error messages?
Sorry King, can't comment on the UK variety...
Thanks!
