So I'm pretty new here and I'm already addicted to modding I ordered PIAA xtreme whites H11 4000k bulbs as a small 18th birthday present to myself but when I got it all taken apart it just wouldn't fit and i can't seem to find anything in the manual about fog light bulbs.. can anyone point me in the right direction?

It would probably be helpful for you to provide the model year and trim level for your 5-er.

Unfortunately, the owner's manual for my '06 doesn't provide details for the foglight lamps. But, Bavarian Autosport says they're 9006's, and Real OEM says they're HB4's. Fortunately, they're the same items.

+1 ...

And for some parts / accessories changes are made mid-calendar year (regardless of the model year) so it's always wise to confirm production date.

Some comprehensive online sites permit enter of the VIN to increase parts selection accuracy. Last but not least, my experience has taught me,when it comes to lamps & bulbs to remove the original/current to verify style / part number. Been "surprised" more than once even when the part was confirmed by a reputable site like http://www.sylvania.com/ConsumerProd...otiveLighting/

As for the fogs it's probably a 9006 / HB4. Yes they are the same. Search the forum for instructions about access to the fogs - it's easy but necessitates loosening the lower under cover behind the bumper.

Yep, the 9006/HB4 are the right ones. Considering I have gone through 6 sets of bulbs so far, I'd suggest doing what I did - contact John@Motorcepts ASAP and get a set of the HID fogs, they are amazing!!!!!!

On mine I have 9006. If you are too confused take the bulbs out and take a picture of them from the connector side and we will help you in a right direction!

H8's appear to correct for your 2008... this is an example of why we need to know / check MY and other car configuration info.

You can get a Canbus no error kit on special now as well.

Your bulbs are either 9006/HB4 (2004-2007) or H8 (2008+)
Or they are 9006 for all Mtech type fogs also.
Unless you are using aftermarket fogs and those are usually H11 or H3.
