I installed one of these last night (connect 2) that runs directly into the antenna.. sounds quality is good, pretty pleased with the result... not as good as an aux though.. but pretty decent... depends on how "into" your audio you are.. I just want to play tunes from my iphone through the stereo.. not necessarily get top end quality sound!

if the aux in had been cheaper though... I would have gone that way.

I also had an FM Transmitter type that plugged into the cigarette lighter... what a waste of money

I use the cigarette lighter FM Modulator - some are crap but my current one is a Ryotech In Car MP3 Player Wireless FM Modulator that not only has an auxiliary input (which I don't use) but takes a USB Stick and SD Memory card. Works very well with good sound quality until you get near a powerful FM station causing interference but it's possible to change to another channel easily. The display isn't bad and it doesn't matter if you have MP3's in folders, it will play and display each file. The good thing is that it remembers the last tune when switched off which is just as well when you have a 2gb card in it.

Even comes with a remote control but you would probably crash trying to use it.

I had a FM modulator, sound quality was decent but ever once in a while it would lose reception and make static noises. After a week I threw it away.

IIRC, the Aux Input can be installed at the dealer for only about $150. Not that expensive considering the more consistent and better sound quality compared to the FM Modulator. The full integration kit, on the other hand, is a lot more but just the aux input is relatively cheap.
