Thumbs up Fluid filter power steering

Hello.I'm from Russia.I propose to set the filter fluid power steering. In my E60 tank is the filter mesh. The old models of BMW and Mercedes was a tank with replaceable filter cartridge. It seems to me that the grid gets filtered.I found a solution - installed the tank with replaceable cartridge from an army vehicle. The result of filtering happy. This reservoir fit perfectly in a regular mount to my BMW!
What do you think?

I like it! Nice work. I'll put the Alexander Ovechkin stamp of approval on it. did you get the tank for any particular model BMW or Mercedes?

Sounds like a plan to me. Don't see why that wouldn't work. The army truck filter/reseuave assembly is very close to the power steering reseuave on my old 1981 BMW e12, 528i with the replaceable filter. The e60 power steering reseuave has a filter permanently mounted inside, just not removable for replacement. When I serviced my system, several years ago, I replaced the reseuave with a new unit. Cost here in states was USD 65, cheep enough and 2 hose clamps plus fluid.

In my original tank is installed grid.It is bad filters and oil after replacing quickly darkens. In the filter with a replaceable cartridge filtering surface is much bigger and better filters. It will prolong the life of the pump and the steering rack.

nice nice, i'm guessing this isn't applicable to ARS equipped vehicles though. PS fluid reservoir is huge in those, maybe a special type of filter for the CHF oil? thought i doubt it.

Actually the ARS reservoir is the same tank/part number, no difference.

Normal oil reservoir:
32416851217
ARS oil reservoir:
32416782538

ARS reservoir is twice as tall. Replaced it recently when I flushed the PS fluid.

You're correct....
Active steering and Dynamic drive (ARS) use the same bottle, 32416782538, independently
or together.
