Either way the vent faces, probably won't make any difference since It doesn't sound right that water is filling the outside panel so high that water enters the vent in the first place. Something is blocked or damaged.

It did make a difference. When you install the vent the correct way as shown in your photo, it is very tight to snap all 6 clips around the vent to the body panel. If the vent is installed the wrong way as shown in my early post, it was very lose. You are also right about why water going into the quarter panel in the first place. I need to wait for rain to stop then I could remove the taillight assembly to see what is going on around that area.

Thanks,

Thanks for the tip. There are a few caps in the bottom of the battery compartment, which one should I remove ? Can you post a picture to show the correct plaster cap ?

Thanks,

Thanks,
Not sure where the rear drains are. I have poured water in the sunroof channel and see it drip from in front and behind the rear tires. The front drains are easy to see.
In the sunroof the drains are in the corners (circle) and exit in the door jambs (arrow) behind the wiring boot.

+1 there is a known problem with the sun roof drain hoses. When they get clogged water can get inside the roof and run down into the areas around the trunk shorting out PDC and other components - there is an easy test to check if they are clogged. Also, the dealers offer a service to "clean" the hoses. I just had this problem and water was coming in through my roof.

Thanks for the picture. Did you remove the cap from inside battery compartment or outside under the passenger side rear wheel ?

Excellent pictures to show the sunroof drain holes location. I will take a look this evening as rain starting to end soon in Boston.

From the outside. Just use a flat screw driver.
