My flat tire monitor kept going off every other day or so. Each time I checked all 4 tires and checked the pressure in each. Everything seemed to be fine until yesterday. I was driving to work and it came on again. Several seconds after that, I felt my rear swirve slightly then I saw rubber flying past me. I was doing about 80mph. I pulled over to the shoulder and checked my tire. The inside wall of my rear driver side tire had ripped open. I put on the spare and got a new tire. Just my story. I thought it was crying wolf. Guess I was wrong. I'm glad I at least slowed when I saw the flat tire monitor come on.

FTM does NOT cry wolf. I had a similar experience, but the second time it went off I thoroughly checked my tire and found a nail in the very inside of the tread where I couldn't see it without removing the tire.

Looks to me like your pressure gauge was the one crying wolf! You ought to get a new one of those right away...

Glad you or the car weren't hurt!

Mine didn't seem to work that well. I put new wheels on not knowing I had Run Flats and the flat tire warning didn't pop up until 2 weeks later. Now it shows up all the time.

My FTM worked perfectly the one-and-only time that my run-flat had a nail in it. It's seems to be a good system...

When you put your new wheels on did you re-calibrate the FTM?
