tomorrow i will remove the bumper to fit an mtech kit..
i will try to remove the flap...
If i am not wrong, there was a magnetic thing connected with the flap and the bumper,
you can simply take it off and it will not send error code to idrive.
The garage that i went had done at least 5 cars and no problem or whatsoever

I'm no expert so don't shoot me but...on my 545 the air intake is in front of where you are showing this "flap" although on the other side (drivers side). So, before you do anything I would verify where your air intake is and make sure how the RPI scoop fits before taking the flaps out or disabling. If there is a sensor on the system it would detect whether open or closed and may give you a fault if removed.

I dont read the WDS document but I knew this from my experieced.

If I pushed the button to take the air from outside the flap is open and vice versa.

thx keith, today i managed to remove the flap.. this only possible when we remove the bumper.
there was a wire connected to somekind of magnetik thing.. so i just disconnect the plug..
problem is i have not start the car, so hopping not to see code error since the car
will be at the shop to color match the mtech kit..
i'll post the pic of the flap tonight..

pics...

1. the whole flap

2. plug behind the flap... unpluged this, hope not to see error on the idrive

3. notice the round magnet to open and close, no lever, no hidrolic..
no mechanical what so ever "something magic is going on in there.."

4. new look...

It's a cat flap for small cats who like to sleep on the warm engine.
The grill is too narrow for big cats or small dogs.
However the cat has to find a different way out as it can't get back out the same way.
Having said that, some cats will use a 'door stop' and wedge the flaps open and then they taunt other cats from the comfort of the engine.
This is just a different opinion.
