Sounds oily.
Should be applied with care. Have a clean dry cloth with you to wipe excess. Apply little each time. It is oily during application but once dry no stains or oil remain

So far I only did this once and my car has been so silent ever since. It is well worth it

Fix 99% of all rattles

1) apply WD40 on a cloth and clean all your door seals both the ones on the door and the ones on the car body.

2) using the plastic straw that comes with the WD40 apply some between the rear seats and the parcel shelf
dont worry if you get some stains on the parcel shelf they soon dry out!!!

3) spray some WD40 under your seats. On the metal base that holds your seat in place.

4) apply some WD40 round the small vents on the dashbord that blow air on the side windows.

Then drive your car. You will not believe your ears.

Cheers and Merry Christmas to all

This is a very old and crude remedy, and I thought that BMW was quite specific saying NOT to apply lubricants to door seals. I dunno, but this technique can help certain kinds of squeeks. I first saw it done 30 years ago to a noisy power steering drive belt--to heck with the induced slippage...lol

Shouldn't last too long though....

Cheers,

Can you show on a picture exactly where to spray the WD-40 between seats and parcel shelf?
Thanks
Markymark you spray the WD40 exactly between the rear seat and the parcel shelf (i.e were they meet and join up) and all the way across the length of the seat

Thanks Kyriacos

Merry Christmas and a great new year everyone!

Just dip whole car in WD40.. LOL. J/K

WD40 is bad for rubber btw. It can eat through it in no time. Use silicone spray instead.

Yeah, use silicone spray, it should last longer aswell. And - don't at all lubricate the door seals - replace them.

I can confirm on WD40 working.
I use that for a almost a year now. The thing is that it needs to be reapplied like every few months. But I don't mind. Still the only solution that works even better than visiting a dealer....
