MY first 5 series was an 05. The dealership ended up turning it on. It was a long process because they had to down load stuff. The salesperson told me it had bluetooth. I think that was how I avoided getting a bill.

what year is it?, open the boot and remove the left had trim, the TCU module is located on a carrier bolted to the suspension bulk head, if it`s there and you don`t have bluetooth in the idrive coms menu then it just needs activating.

Cheers for the replies guys, it's a 2006 525i, if anyone has a pic of what it looks like, it might help me find it. If it doesn't have it on the car, has anyone an idea on what it might cost to fit it?

Your model year should have the TCU installed already. You will need to have the service activated at a dealership or a qualified independent mechanic (cheaper I'm sure).

Thanks a million guys for your help, has anyone got a picture or image of the TCU, so I know what to look for in the boot?
