When you go South traffic is nothing less then chaos.
In the North (so that's Genova as well) traffic became much more organised since they got new traffic laws.
Down South they don't seem to care much about the laws.

I'm not crazy. I didn't park the car on the pedestrian way, I just left it there the time to snap two shots and then put it in the garage (the garage is underground, straight ahed of the pedestrian way). There is also a car-wash service, so a lot of cars cross those "zebra stripes" every day. I'm quite careful about parking in my town because the police is veeery seriuos about that; think that in January they removed my Land Rover because somebody complained it was parked too close to a turn and it costed me over 250,00 USD of fee and removal costs!
Yeah, in north of Italy most municipal police corps are very serious about traffic laws and regulation, especially everything is related to parking!

not all of Europe is so clean and nice. Even in my hometown, which has, as you can see, some beautiful areas, shares its own part of really ugly industrial or former industrial areas. There are people that are not so lucky to live by the sea, with palms, parks, tennis clubs, beaches and pedestrain areas everywhere. And some metropolitan areas in the south are so overcrowded that the population density is close to Hong Kong!

And what drives me nuts about it is that the car manufacturers could build Diesels that are not worse than petrol engines. But they won't...

Why is the diesel dirty? From what I've heard they are cleaner than petrol engines. Much less CO2 and with the Particle filter there should be almost no particles.
