This was not a good weekend. On way to visit friends in the Hamptons, a West Pointer driving his hulking SUV, rammed me, all be it slightly, in the rear quarter panel on my way out the city . Visitors to NYC should be forced to park their vehicles outside of our city limits before entering by mass transportation. They tend to imitate the "deer with headlights in their eyes" approach to driving. Last second changes in direction, ignoring standard traffic lanes and signs put there to promote safety, become lost in the blur of sensory overload as they tiptoe their vehicles up, down and around Manhattan Island. Fortunately I have rarely been a victim of the "out-of towner" syndrome, but I partuiculary did not want it to happen to my latest love so young in its life. Now I am caught in the insurance web as I attempt to get the money rightfully due to me in a reasonable amount of time to pay for the (ouch!) light use of bondo and new paint.

I'd probably garage the e60 off the island and commute to drive it!
Forget the out of towners, between dodging cabbies, truck drivers and potholes I'd be a nervous wreck trying to keep my ride from harm in NY.
