Yep, still can't wipe this smile of my face!!
Car is awesome
After 500km, haven't noticed anything of adverse technical merit to report...
As far as I-drive is concerned, I am on version 14.2. Boot time from key to postion 1 is 13 seconds. No reboots, no hangs, no static. Nothing.
Bluetooth phone, as well, working great. My wife told me that there was an echo in her voice when speaking, I reduced the volume slightly, no echo anymore.
Voice control ( although in German ) is working superbly. Not just for phone operations, everything..changing cd's with voice is a couple of commands...cool
I'm actually finding myself using the voice for most of
menu selections!! Navigation is easy.
I was informed that changing from German to English is NOT available ( yet )
Their internal note specified software upgrade possibility pending.
Something for the Dutch comrades: my dealer told me that cars are getting delivered now in Holland with voice rec.. However, he just delivered a 530i with voice, but it did not work. The 530i had Business Nav. I suggested that Bluetooth and Pro Nav are maybe necessary for correct voice operation....( ? )
My opinion for new buyers is to order it, and wait for the software upgrade...
For the rest, still in breaking-in rules driving mode, I am staying under 3500rpm
( although 4500rpm is specified )- will gradually increase to 4000rpm at 1000km,
4500 rpm at 1500km to 2000km. It's going to be smooth as a baby's *ss!!!
Mind you, even up to 3000rpm I'm still blowing away 80% of the cars on the road...hehehe
Getting on Friday my wood shift selector...
Keep you posted,
Andy.
PS. Does anyone have the German version of the Voice Recognition Command List? TIA
TIA

A question for you being as my 545 is on the boat to the US, and we continue to have what appears to be conflicting data on Bluetooth availability.... Obviously from your post you have BT, and it works well. I assume you didn't specifically order it, right? And did you do anything with the dealer to "turn it on"? In the US it is not an order option. My dealer told me that the car would be BT "ready", but that it would be a dealer charge to fully enable it. Your comment from your experience is appreciated!
Best,
David.

Congrats, I am waiting for my 545. I ordered Nav with voice recognition, I hope it's not in German as I live in Canada. A little French maybe, but no German.

[/quote]Yes, I did have to order it. It is an option as "bluetooth preparation".
When I got the car, I stuck in a phone adapter ( siemens S55 ) and after a brief
setup I was in business!!

I would say you get English specs on both the languages ( Nav and voice ).
At the moment voice is either English or German.
Pa problem!

Sounds like 14.2 is working well. Is that in Europe only or does someone have it in the U.S.? I've only heard of 13.2 on the forum so far.
