Is there anyway i can tell which version of the software i have ?

If i find i have an older version, am i entitled to ask the dealer to upgrade it ?

As you are getting the car in the next two weeks, you'll likely have the very latest firmware which will either be 12.1.2 (now) or 12.2 (seen a couple of people report it)

To answer your question, end users cannot tell what version of software is loaded on the car -- your dealer must provide that information to you.

The dealer will usually upgrade your software if/when you complain about problems or glitches. Just asking for "the latest" won't really be worth it unless you need something fixed.

It's been posted before (but not confirmed) that the car can only be upgraded around 15 times (give or take a few) before some computer component has to be replaced. For that reason, the dealers are reluctant to simply upgrade you without any valid reasons.

As browellm said, your car will have the latest and greatest loaded already. That doesn't mean it'll be bug free but unless you have some major issue, I'd wait a few versions before complaining too much.
