Hello everyone,

been on this forum for a while but never posted any proper pics of my car. now that we in austria are getting warmer weather, i have changed to my summer shoes, so here you go.

I bought the car 6 months old and had the styling 124. I then changed to styling 135 for my winter shoes and then for my summer 166. I have had a total of 5 sets of tires for this car: two sets 124 (winter and summer), 1 set 135 (winter), 1 set 172 (summer) and 1 set 166 (summer). I finally stayed with the 166 and 135. Have now one summer set 124 left to sell...

so here are the pics

I have 13mm spacers at the rear - they were really necessary with the 135 for winter but once i put the 166 on, i realized that i need them for the 166 too, simply because the front of the 166 stick out soooooooo much, you need the spacers in the rear to have a sensible balance between front and rear.

i have read a lot about the 166 before i bought them but the one thing no one mentioned was that the front offset make the front tires "stick out" big time. obviously the wheels are made for the m5 that is wider in the front, and on a normal e60, the wheels stick out as if someone had put 15mm spacers at the front - in my eyes a bit too aggressive.

anyway, my 2 cents on anyone wanting to buy a set of 166.

otherwise, great car, active steering with the sport suspension and 18/19" tires gives you a great feeling of the road. had a loaner last week, 16" with normal suspension and normal steering - my opinion, was just too soft and half the fun of such a sporty car...

Tv reception while driving is not that good, but from september we should have dvb-t (digital broadcast), and i hope the reception is going to be better then.

As for reliability, bmw has quite a bit to do. I have had the car for 6 months, and i would say, it has spent about 25 days in total in the garage for various reasons. regardless, no regrets, don't miss my mercedes c200 cdi...

greetinz from austria

This must actually by some kind of rim pic record!

Very NICE! Yes not many people have mentioned that the #166s stick maybe one or two people jsal was one that has... and has gave a ton of info on the #166s.

What tire size are you running on the #166s? 245/35 or 245/40 and 275/30 or 285/30 ?
