I've considered deactivating mine, but every time someone particularly stubborn gets into my car and doesn't want to wear a seatbelt, the sound gets the job done, so I decided to leave it.

My EXACT situation.

I always wear my seat belt, with or without chime sound. But i always get scared if passengers don't wear it. So the chime does the job for me without me being an ass over seat belt rule.

The chime is only annoying because you don't put the seatbelt, which is the first thing that should be done before driving off.

But for people who just get the spare buckle to shut the chime off, deactivation is the best alternative, either way they are not wearing the seat belt.

Safety first people. The sound is annoying for good reason. So you do the right thing and not activate it. It is 2nd nature for me to put it on though I must admit when i was younger I was appalled by the thought.

+ 1 They should set it up that you can't start the car unless you have the seat belt on.

It took 5 minutes and here is the proof
That's really really cool. Do you happen to know how to disable the airbags too? I hate those things, so fu$#ing annoying. Don't get me started on that crumple zone too, I want to rip that sucker out.

I don't mind wearing seatbelts..I just wish there was a way to hook it up somewhere (like in some cars) so it doesn't get tight around the stomach/waist area. it makes driving uncomfortable.
