today. What a great car! The sales rep said that I set the record for the dealership for putting 2,300 miles on my car in Europe. The 545 e60 is absolutely awesome. I like everything about it: the design, the engine, the performance, the handling. Anyone that says the e39 is better is out in la la land. The e60 is better in every respect. I do not understand the complaints about the i-drive. It is not that difficult. You can use it as much or as little as you like. I feel sorry those that snub this car for stupid, childish reasons. It is simply an awesome automobile, light years ahead of the e39.

My only complaint. I can't keep it under the speed limit!

Congratulations on the "redelivery" of your 545! Your European mileage beat mine by about 1300. What countries/cities did you visit? We went through Munich, Salzberg, Prague and Vienna. We loved the whole ED process.

I agree with you that those that knock the E60 have not driven it over a long enough period of time to appreciate that it's a fantastic piece of automotive engineering and pure driving fun! Post some photos of the new arrival.

I am so jellous! I can not stand the wait. My financing and insurance is complete and waiting for the car. I have booted my wife's suburban out of the garage. I now need to determine what "name" I am going to give the car.

Congratulations from another 545 to be owner from Chicago. Mine is on the boat and should be hitting NJ in a couple of days.
Best of luck with it!

Hey - we may have enough locals to set up a meeting of the E60s in Chicago! The group that met in Germany had a great time based on the descriptions in the thread and pics posted.

cocogigio,
We may have enough for a Chicago area meeting of E60s. How do you think we would go about it?

BTW-pharding: who is your dealer? Bill Jacobs in Naperville is mine.
