Well,
As some of you have been following along, I picked up my 550i today at 10am. What a sweet car. First Impressions, Blue Tooth is Awesome, I made the right choice of black in my opinion, and the jumpiness of my wife's 545 throttle is gone on this car. I am going to include some pictures with this post. Some of the new car and one of the major differences between the cars.
The I-drive knob, as we know, is different with the 550i, having a leather top. The other difference is the Detent is stronger on the 550, as opposed to the 545. By detent, I mean the clicks on the knob as you turn it. They added more tension and it almost has a tinny sound and feel to it. I like my wife's 545 feel, better, as you could spin it easier through the stations, etc.
The Power feels the same, but, I only have 16 miles on the car. Will have to wait for true comparisons. The only other apparent difference besided the start/stop button, is the Climate Control knobs on the 550, match the Rhodesian?, finish on the steering wheel, shifter, and I-Drive. The 545i, had darker knobs.
See pictures for detail and I apologize in advance for the shakiness, but the excitiement was too much!
Going to go to the window tint place now. Thanks for this great list and all the help and info of the many who came before me!!!! This forum is AWESOME!!!
Regards, Mike

Congrats. But, other than the added dark panels on that engine cover, it looks identical to my 04, inside and out. (mine is bk and gy also) I even recognize those RFs that I shed yesterday in favor of snows; big relief!
What are you finding different from your other one?
Have fun,
Ray Hull

I can see that you are so excited that your hand is vibrating whilst taking the interior pics!
But that's no problem, your car looks like a killer, you must feel like a winner!
Congrats on your new, and exellent looking ride, enjoy!!!
PS. Try to brake it nicely in!!!
PS2. Enjoy the warm weather, it's way below freezing overhere!!!!
