I did try searching in this forum. I typed BMW F10 and F10 in the search box but nothing came up. I understand how folks can get frustrated when old questions are asked again and again by newbies. For that I appoligize. I did a Google search for BMW F10 and it showed quite a few sources mentioning 2009 as launch year. It does sound a bit too soon.

Thank you.
You're welcome. Not a problem, just a subject I had not kept up on myself...

Hey Bimmerguy,

No need to apologize. If you search for "F10*" (without quotes, and untick the box "search this forum only") you will get a few highly relevant threads. The search engine on the forum is not very good at picking very short words, for some reason.

Alternatively, use "F10" in the GoogleSearch box at the top, and you'll get a few more matches (419 when I tried), but spread all over rather than the "best" threads.

Hope this helps.

Many are guided by leasing rather than buying outright so those individuals "go with the flow" when changing cars.

I wonder whether the "5 Series" will be abandoned in droves when the F10 comes along and will be retained only by the cogniscenti (and the poor!).
Maybe I should start a new thread on how to perform effective searches. Or maybe I should ask Rudy.

Somehow, I don't think the E60 has quite the same "cult" status that the E39 had (and the E34 before that) with all parties: press, public, competitors.

To go with Car magazine's old GBU entry on the E60: "Good; it should be better", so I don't see the same sort of recrimination/reminiscence that is going on with the E34 and E39, and a faster replacement even for outright buyers.

A lot is of course going to depend on how good the F10 is.
