There are some features that are options now should be STANDARD to be called executive car
and add other features from other autos to make it as the BEST

Maybe he complained that E60 does not have features that are standard on non-executive car.

You want gimmicks, you buy Japanese or Korean.

You want engineering, you buy BMW

KAF,
You're right on the money!
BMW has smart engineering.
For example, electronic rear trunk opener. It never opens the trunk unless odometer reads 0 mph.
Another example is locking the car. After exiting the car, you can lock the car with remote (assuming driver door has been closed) while other doors are still open. When you closed the last door, alarm will be arm then. I did not see this in Toyota/Lexus car.
Japanese cars have a lot of gimmick, but those gimmick are unsmart design

That's why BMW owners keep coming back

Yep' U R Right
( Lexus, Acura, Audi have features many STD features that are pricy for BMW)

start/stop is an old feature( Y-$1000/-) ,
Heated Front seats STD in many high end cars
Leather-Xenon Std on some
Limited interior colors , not good combination of colors

Volvo S80(2007) have awesome features ?

Still wanted BMW from long time, I hope I will love my 528 xi , once I get in next month( Production complete)
US Customers do not have many choices as Euro do( models, colors, accessories, options)

You are not alone. I am not really sure what his point is either.

Sure, japanese cars are riddled with gadgets because they have to be able to sell their utterly boring cars somehow. Also, the standard equipment differs from market to market. Here in Sweden for example, both Audi and Volvo charge you extra for the steering wheel. OK, I may have exaggerated a little but my point is that the cars are certainly not well equipped from scratch. Anyhow, I would think that you buy a BMW because you love to drive, not because it comes with twice as many cup holders.
