Greetings,

Im curious how your post has a time stamp of 4:07 pm when we are both in Chicago and its only 2:13 now?

BTW I wish the snow was gone so I could get my car out on the read without getting salt all over it.

Now I notice that mine has a time stamp of two hours ahead too. What time zone is this forum set to?

One hour ahead of Eastern?

Strange.

I have to ask, Do the interior goes dirty easily from the leather places? We didn't bought those lighter leathers because we think it will goes dirty easily.
Congrats to get 550 from m2

I had the light sand interior in my last car (BMW 740iL), and to be honest, the light leather, door sills and dash are not as big of a problem as you would think. Most often, it wipes down very easily and without complication. In fact, I kind of thought the black interior that I've seen in the loaner cars from my BMW dealer showed more dirt and marks on the leather & dash than the brown, but I might be wrong. Of course, those were also high use cars, without much love.

The only place that the beige is a nuisance is the floor mats & carpet - as you might imagine, it takes very little to show nasty stain. Coffee spots, mud, ketchup - all nightmares, and part of the reason I got the BMW all weather floor mats, at least for the winter months.

I've always loved the cars that came with light colored seats, but dark carpet. I wish more cars were like that........

Nice car!

Yes, black shows it all. Breath on it and its dirty.

Only problem with light interior is the paint rubbing off from the side of leather shoes when you get them polished. I read some soft scrub is good at getting that kind of "stubburn" stains out.

I got my car a week now and really enjoy the ride. IM suprised how quiet this thing is. Just a nice little growl from the engine. Gotta keep the revs limited while it breaks in!

Glad I did not wait for the 535. Wait for Manual in sept would not have worked. But door design for new model does not work for me. The ergonomic awkwardness of window switches look far worse than any practical use. I have not developed any carpel tunnel nor any sprains! In fact, I can get it done without looking at them!

While more is better, the 530 has a wonderful motor in its own right. I'd have to say after playing with the steptronic at the performance center and living with the MT, the MT gives greater access to the sweetness.

In any configuration this is a wonderful car!

You are absolutely 100% correct. I also had my black leather belt leave a nasty black steak on the side bolster of my last "sand" BMW. Argh.

Floor mats always look black from shoe scuffing, especially where the heel meets the mat.

I'm hoping my OEM all weather mats will help, but the carpet mats will need replacing after each summer, I am sure.

That being said......a CLEAN and freshly waxed black car is absolutely amazing too. Just too much work for this novice....
