ok i think we all know the m5 would beat the 355 in a race but for the bang for the buck and status qo pound for pound which is a hotter car to buy ? either one can be bought for around 80gs ??????? And im thinking real hard on either one

Questions you should ask yourself...

1. Are you single or married...chick magnet factor.

2. How often do you carry more than 1 passenger.

3. Are you buying for show or go?

4. How much are you willing to spend on repairs? My bud has a 355 Spyder and I can assure you he spends plenty on maintainance. I would say he spends at least $4k a year and puts on maybe 3k miles.

The F355 is hard to justify as a daily driver. Still, it's a statement car and very cool. An M will turn heads sometimes...a 355 will ALWAYS turn heads.

Good luck with your decision.

If you were to race you'd find the F355 to be just as quick as the M5. It's down on power, but it does have a 1000lb weight advantage over the M5 and has an additional benefit as it also happens to be one of the most beautiful of the modern Ferrari's.

M5 or F355? Totally different cars but both excellent in their own way. Assuming you can afford the upkeep on the 355 you can't go wrong with either.

That's exactly what i am going to say, buying a F355 is not expensive................but owning one is very expensive!! Plus the car will need to be serviced every 3K-5K miles (And that doesn't mean it will be reliable!!), so M5 for me or spend more on brand new F430

Look harder and you can find some nice one out there in the $60s range. If this is your 2nd car, it should be ok. I think that is a classic and the best sounding Ferrari out there.
I was looking at the same car as my weekend car, but I back off when I found out the routine service maintenance will cost you from $5K - $8K . Like someone else mentioned, cost more to own than to buy.
