I also have an SZL issue. My brakes were also affected. My Service manager says that anything electronic can go out, but brakes seems to be rare. Mine is not the only car with brake involvement at my dealership. I did get a 3.0 X3 for a loaner, but then again my car was the second that they saw with this issue, and not much was known at that time about this issue. The interesting thing is that it doesn't seem to matter how old the car is or how many miles it has on it...they are all malfunctioning now.

I have seen in many posts that there is clearly a problem with the DSC or SZL on 06 or higher e60s. However, I am wondering how many people were offered a loaner vs. a rental car. I am paying for this car as it sits at the dealership for 2 weeks to wait for a module and it feels like I am burning money while I drive a Dodge Stratus. Any suggestions?? My dealership is Crevier...they claim they have no loaners but this just seems unacceptable...
I was all bitter and I called the next day! Bought my car from Century West BMW, next to UNIVERSAL STUDIOS! Since I bought it here and explained traction problem with a service advisor, he put me in a loaner the morning I called! it was a x3 and couldnt complain cause it was still a bmw loaner. they had my car for a week, no expense out of my pocket except for gas! was very pleased with there service. Bought BMW from Shelly BMW, buena park, and its decent, but they just put you in a enterprise vehicle on there clock, so again no expenses paid out of my pocket. but i wished they offer loaner cars. ASSAEL in Monrovia? ASSAEL, the name says it all, there service and sales department are filled with buncha AHOLES, excuse the language! service lady slammed the freaking door on me when i was getting in there shuttle (sorry to say, but she was a racist or something. I was pissed came out and basically she gave me the finger, but luckily the shuttle van driver was a honest decent living person, that made my day all better because he advised that he will talk to the manager about the situation!), because they changed there policy which was bs! cause i saw about fifteen loaner cars out in the lot and looking around I WAS THE ONLY ONE THERE!!! Hey my best advice, never go to ASSAEL, if you bought a car from there, I hope you did not have to share the same horrific experience I had to deal with,
