Well update guys....went to my SA. Told him "My rental just isn't gonna work..." was polite and he quickly said, "Hey we got a loaner for you just drop off that rental and come back" Now I am in an '06 325i. Not my baby but hey a lot better than a Dodge. But you know what guys those things come with some cool features that the e60 should have...i.e. aux input in the center console as well as a cigarette lighter. Who would have thought...hmmm. Another cool one is the power folding mirrors and entry lighting on all doors. Ah well I am sure those will get into the '08 e60s.

Awesome! sounds good. I knew Crevier will take care of you. Always heard they were one of the better ones.

Good to see that they took care of things for ya. A e90 sure beats a dodge stratus!

I just dropped mine off today. My SA told me that the part is on back order, and it'd normally take about 10 days to get it to the dealership. No loaners left so he gave me a Hertz rental car, Mazda6, and its handling is absolutely horrible; nothing compares to the e60. My e60 is grounded because he said that BMW does not want customer to drive the car with this malfunction so it stays in the dealership parking for the next 10 days or so .

Count me in as one of the few who really could care less about the loaner as long as it is reliable. While I understand the theory about paying for one car and driving another, it does not bother me as the miles are accumulating on THEIR car not mine. Way back when, my Supra was in the shop for over a month and I had a 4 year old Camry. Racked up like 2,000 miles on that baby

So, does this only affect 2006 cars, or will I get this problem at some point, too?

I heard the Mazda Speed6 is suppose to be really nice. I guess thats the 550 or M5 of the Mazda6? Little Suprised to hear that the 6 is bad...

The car has only about 8000 miles on it but the suspension is felt loose and rough over bumps. The steering is also felt loose. Acceleration is also bad; I think they are trying to make it to feel fast by setting up the first gear really sensitive to the pedal. No smooth at all. I feel like driving a boat. Cheap interior. Sorry the Mazda6 did not impress me one thing.

I also have an SZL issue. My brakes were also affected. My Service manager says that anything electronic can go out, but brakes seems to be rare. Mine is not the only car with brake involvement at my dealership. I did get a 3.0 X3 for a loaner, but then again my car was the second that they saw with this issue, and not much was known at that time about this issue. The interesting thing is that it doesn't seem to matter how old the car is or how many miles it has on it...they are all malfunctioning now.

How old is your car?
