So how many 545i's for the US since day one?

Just curious and too lazy to do the math.

MB currently sucks big time!
Ppl are complaining about cheap interior and a lot of problems.

MB cheap interior? I disagree; I think their interiors are very nice actually. Most of the "touch" materials (plastics, buttons, etc.) are superior to BMW,imho. Some of the "touch" elements on the 5 and the 7 are insultingly bad; there are a few pieces of plastic which BMW should be ashamed of.

You know, I have a 91 MB and my supervisor just brought a 2005 MB C Series. My 91 (pre-merger) has the Germeny quality and its visible in the ride and appearance. His MB, well, I guess some manufactures feel the standards are compromiserable. His car reminds me of the X Type, which has a beautiful appearance, but the interior and ride are basically Ford Focus quality.

I hope that BMW never has the "urge to merge" and remains a pure breed German automobile.

As a young man I was partial to VW's, now as an adult I feel BMW has the true Germany feel. The only car that I have found close to the feel and enjoyment is the IS300 Lexus. But don't tell my wife -she's a loyal Japanese citizen who believes that the Rising Sun is superior in everything! Stands a reason she takes the E60 every morning and not her Toyota.

My couple, three, four cents...

What the heck is happening with the E class?? That's a horrible statistic.

The US market is punishing MB for a very poorly built and unreliable car -- the E class. Any informed and sophisticated buyer with the $$ to buy MB will look up the reliability data of the MB (Consumer Reports and others publish this) and then run quickly to their BMW dealer or any Japanese luxury manufacturer (Lexus, Acura or Infiniti), which the sales data for MB proves is happening.

If MB does not significantly improve the quality and reliability of its vehicles in the US market, it will become a second tier player (i.e., Jaguar, Volvo, Audi) very soon because BMW and Lexus and killing them in sales right now.

But the C-series is a lower quality MB... At least to me it is... comparing the C to the E its totally different in quality... E is much better. C is like the ML Horrible! a cheap wanna be mercedes.

When I say quality I mean Quality as in the materials used... not as in reliability...
