A while back I had the side reflectors stolen from one of my older BMWs parked overnight in Philadelphia. Area police caught two young dudes with a small power screwdriver stealing anything they could easily unscrew or unsnap from anything parked on a side street. They claimed it was to stock their ebay inventory ... Sooooo you might check some of those ebay stores that suddenly have e60 mirror glass for sale - ESPECIALLY if dealer prices are < $600!!!
This sort of aligns with the current rash of catalytic converter thefts!

Wow, sorry man, that freggin sux! Something else to look out for now. Glass thieves. Repair that wire - you should be able to use some crimp connectors for it. It may be a ground wire. The motor can't run without it. Good luck man. Wow.

Sorry to hear about that.
I swear we need a Anti-Shock system for our cars.
That price is ridiculous.
I sold a set of mirrors Used OEM for $75 dollars. The whole housing too.
I think the mirrors cost a lot cause of the electrochromatic lens. *shrug*.

I went to IHOP today for breakfast, the place was packed so I parked in the block behind it Between 155th ST and 156 St on 35th ave in Flushing Queens today. When I got back to the car I noticed my side mirrors were folded in (which I did not do) getting closer in the damn mirrors on driver and passenger side were missing!!! Bastard disconnected them! I ended up buying a replacement set from bmw of bayside (cause it was the closest place) for ~600!!!! for damn glass?! I installed them and the driver side works however the passenger side is unresponsive and I noticed one of the wires the black was cut/broken! So anyone think the cut wire is what is causing the mirror from responding to tilt commands? Can I fix it myself or do I have to give more money to the dealer?
WOW. I live right near there (Bayside) and thats ridiculous. Next time, go to the IHOP in Manhasset. Much nicer, although some of the old "snotty" people will still swing doors for their fat a$$ to get out. Flushing Asian Mafia strikes again.
Sorry dude. by the way, if you are a BMWCCA member you get a 20% discount.

oh god i forgot to mention that to the dealership (bmwcca) 20%of 600? =( lol. Well the guy mustve known what he was doing cause the driver side was actually on a road that had cars zooming by very quickly
I should take up the mirror offers from you guys, cause I can return the mirrors (although with 20% restocking fee) and get a sorta refund. I needed the mirrors bad yesterday cause it was pouring rain etc. Anyone have oem mirrors for sale?
