I just had my car(06 525i) serviced due to diesel sound like noise from the engine.

They said they will have my on-board computer upgraded.

When I went back to pick my car up, they said they haven't found anything wrong in the hardware and upgraded the on-board comp. and it will let that sound go away...(i'm not too sure if it's true but haven't heard any diesel sound so far)

One thing interested me was that they had found a fault radio code or soemthing.

and asked me if i had any problems with the radio and i said there were a few times it didn't play the first song on the CD.

since my car is early production of 06, it has the business radio (no nav.) and I know it doesn't play MP3's.

I asked if that faulty radio code doesn't get fixed, do i get the radio placed with the proffessional radio that can play MP3? and they said yes, of course.

Actually on the night i received my car back, it didn't play the first song of the CD again.

To any of you gentlemen, has this happened before? the fault radio code?

I really hope if i could get my radio placed with the prof. radio so i can play mp3 :'(

Any comments are welcome.

Thank you in advance.

What do you mean? If you're in North America 2006 cars were built starting March 2005 and that was the same time they switched over to professional radio so you should have Prof Radio...

WHAT? if my Radio breaks I get a replacement Prof Radio??

i'm not too sure about states but for early 06 canadian productions, u get business radio as standard.

in canada, if ppl receive their vehicles after end of Oct, i think all of them should have prof radio.

it's quite unfortunate that I received mine in Sept.
