Solved! Was indeed the battery!
I just noticed this yesterday as well. During the holidays I did not drive my car for several days and while I did not receive a Low Battery warning, I did receive a "Increased Emmissions" msg and also had to reset the Date and Time twice. My CD player was also shuffling when I got into the car.

What did the new battery run you? Did you get it from BMW?
Any thoughts on whether it should be BMW or not?

Solved x2!!

New battery sorted my weak fan, CD/Radio lack of memory problems and occasional no heated seat. Much quicker start on a morning too!

Used a much cheaper Unipart battery.

Mine goes all the way up, but it blows cold or lukewarm air for atleast thirty minutes before finally turning hot. Check vent settings, temp, etc. Nothing. Good thing I have a heated steering wheel.
