Hello gents. My 2006 530 xi fan is staying on. Even on cold startup the fan starts up. When I turn off the car the fan turns off. I replaced the waterpump and the thermostat 8000 miles ago. I went into the hidden menu. The engine temp read at 70-80 c. Any idea?

Couple things...
Check for codes. The radiator fan has a diagnostic check when you turn on the car. There might be come error messages if you check the car via OBD port.
There are three things I can think of:
- fan relay stuck (or, maybe, fused relay contacts)
- coolant temp sensor (but, you see this ok on the hidden menu)
- temp sensor at radiator outlet (another temp sensor)

Well I started up the car this morning after sitting all night Immediately the fan came on. Drove down to autizone to see if there was any shadow codes lingering Nothing came up. Then I drove back home and brung up the hidden menu. The car was running at 105c. So am i safe in saying it can't b the waterpump thermostat again ? What's a overheating temp? Like I stated both were done 8000 miles ago. Plus a hose and some sensor was done aswell

Autozone may not be able to get all the codes. Not entirely sure, someone can chime in who has better knowledge on generic code reading on BMW.

Your correct, they can't see all of them. If a CE light is there, them they will most likely see the code. You would need to look inside with INPA and you should see some activity. Jamie has a what's app or something like this that I believe I would invest in or at least something to go deeper. Consider one visit to the stealer for a check will pay for it!
