I have this chirp squeak noise like a fan bearing going out. It is coming from the Glove Box or footwell area. Still happens when I turn the ventilation system completely off. Will start for about 15 - 20 seconds then stop.

I do not have CD Changer in Glove box either. Is there some other sort of fan or pump in this area? I say pump as i had my ear to the footwell/firewall area ( passenger side) and It sounds like there was some swishing going on.. Is there a pump there? I was wondering if there is like a sump pump to evacuate any A/C condensation collection there.

It is not the CD or nav DVD player either.

Anyway your thoughts.

Don't know if this may or may not be relevant, but you may wish to check out these posts:

When I had problem with aux pump noise, it did sound as if it was in the cabin somewhere near the foot well, but once they fixed the issue, the noise was gone too, hence I think your problem could be related.

I guess it i possible that the noise is resonating from the electrical pump in the front, but it sure sounds like it is right in the passenger footwell area. One thing though if the electrical pump is only operating t start up or idle before switching to mechanical then probably not the source ass the chirp has started up while driving at higway speeds. Its squeaky ( rotation sounding) and pretty loud.

Could it be something similar to my problem?

Fun thing is that I have not heard the noise since I wrote the thread...

I had the same problem with my 2004 530. It was a fan for cooling the computers. It is loacted on the right side in the footwell up in the extreme right corner you will see an exhaust port. My 2008 does not have it.
