I have been having the FTM alert go off about every 2 days. The dealer kept my car and determined that there is a fault with the system, they don't know what to do and they sent a PUMA case to BMW. They will get back to me within a week. It gets scary when you're doing 80mph and the display goes on on the HUD with that annoying "boing".

Did you have to replace that tire?
Depends on how far and how hard you have driven it when flat.

It all then becomes a risk which you have to decide if you want to take.

Hi!

I have had a couple of false alarms...

1) Bad traction, i.e the wheels are spinning..
- They are quite common when driving on ice/snow using winter tires here in Sweden. I never have them in the summer...

2) BMW had to replace and reprogram a DCS control thingy that failed giving me false readings and causing the FTM to go bananas..

Same with me..but when I took the car to the dealer, about two weeks after the warning, they told me "you have un-invited visitor--a nice nail in my tire'
My 545i is having the same FTM false alert issues. An ABS Malfunction appeared in I-Drive display as well. The vehicle is currently in for repeat service on this issue.
