In the 10 or so days that I've been in Beijing and Shanghai, I've seen plenty of E60s. No M5's, 550's, 545's or 535's but plenty of 530's and 523's. I've also seen the new 7, but again, in smaller-engine style, labeled as the 740. They are real.

i think it was more of a reference to the cheesy corny shit the chinese do.
of course there are real BMWs, my friends have an M5 (costs USD230,000) some the L version, and there are loads of 7's around, good news is that BMW has the better reputation, mb are for old men.

I'm still looking for a M5, 550 or 750 here in Shanghai -- I saw none in Beijing. I see all of the same body styles we have in the US but with smaller engines.
750? def loads in Beijing

you won't see too many 550s or M5s in china. They have to be imported, the 530s and 523s are built in china. My sister-in-law just bought a 320i. Based on the current exchange rate, I think she paid almost $50k US. She told me that a "real" imported 550 cost about 1,000,000.00 yuan or about $145,000.00 US. I guess we are getting a pretty good deal.

The X5 has the good grace to continue it's line rather than flicking up like it does in the X3.
