The purple bulb just means it's about to fail. That should be an easy enough swap for them.

If one side is failing, the other one is not too far behind. Ask the dealer to change both sides. If you look carefully, you can tell the difference [in the light output] between the old bulb on the other side and new bulb.

Sounds like the bulb is about to die. When you take the car into the dealer tell them that the bulbs sometimes flicker and noticed the change in the color. Because they wont replace it cuz it looks weird. It has to be failing to be replaced. Good luck.

I also replaced mine past month for same reason. I replaced them in pair, for best performance and no color difference.
At dealer the cost is ~230$ each bulb.

But not OEM.
Maybe chinese no-name product.

The oem HID bulb is 4150K and lights much better than chinese products. In Romania we pay the dealer ~250$ for 1 bulb.
I have tested more versions and I stayed on the oem one.

One that is approaching the quality of oem bulb is osram CBI. ~ 200$ a pair on ebay.
