I like BMW and I am about to order a new 530d. My father likes MB and every time he orders an E-Series, he goes to the factory to collect it. I went last time and it was great.

I remember reading on the BMW USA site a few years ago that US customers can collect their cars from Munich, tour Europe, and have it shipped to the USA for an extra cost.

Is there any way UK customers can collect their cars from the factory in Munich?

I'm sorry that I can't answer your question, but only can offer a correction. US customers actually get a 7% discount for factory collection (or European Delivery, as we call it). For that discounted price, BMW includes a month of tourist registration and insurance as well as shipment of the car to the US. I've done three in the past four years (two for me, one with a friend) and will do two more with friends this spring.
