I was hoping for something a little more by territory (or even better, UK).

That word doc says ?26,980 / ?49,805 for 520d SE and 550i M Sport Touring.

That's ?745 and ?1,470 more respectively. So we're looking about ?1k more on 'mid-range' models...

I wonder to a punter like me who doesn't get VAT back whether that includes VAT but hey it's equivalent to only 3 tanks of fuel

In Finland they put a 100% car tax and a 22% tax on the car tax!!

Above all a 22% VAT

Still quite a hike! (I wonder if the option prices will move too?)

It's VAT inclusive...

It's only about a 3% hike isn't it? And that's over at least 18 months, so well within "parameters" considering that facelifters will get "more" for their money and soon be saving 15-20% on fuel bills.
